Il film norvegese Dreams (Sex Love) diretto da Dag Johan Haugerud vince l’Orso d’Oro per il miglior film del 75esimo Festival di Berlino, che ha visto Todd Haynes alla guida della giuria. Come riportato da AwardsWatch, si tratta della prima volta che un film conquista questo prestigioso riconoscimento.

Scritto e diretto da Dag Johan Haugerud, Dreams è il primo titolo parte della trilogia delle relazioni composta dalle pellicole Sex, Dreams, Love che affrontano le diverse sfaccettature delle relazioni moderne all’interno di un mondo troppo spesso giudicante dove essere liberamente se stessi risulta ancora difficile.

Dreams è un’indagine alle radici del femminile in cui la protagonista Johanne si innamora, per la prima volta, della sua insegnante. Per preservare i suoi sentimenti, la giovane documenta le sue emozioni e le sue esperienze per iscritto. Quando sua madre e sua nonna leggono ciò che ha scritto, inizialmente rimangono scioccate dal contenuto fattuale, ma presto riconoscono il potenziale letterario del testo. Mentre discutono se pubblicarlo o meno, Johanne cerca di colmare il divario tra la sua fantasia romantica e la realtà, e tutte e tre le donne si confrontano con le loro differenti visioni sull’amore, la sessualità e la scoperta di sé.
