Wicked, Conclave e Nosferatu sono i grandi vincitori della 27esima edizione dei Costume Designers Guild Awards.
Sono stati annunciati i vincitori della 27esima edizione dei Costume Designers Guild Awards, che premiano i risultati di eccellenza nella realizzazione di costumi per il cinema, per la televisione, per i cortometraggi e l’illustrazione di costumi, e come riportato da AwardsWatch, per il cinema i grandi vincitori sono stati: Conclave, Nosferatu e Wicked.
La leggenda vincitrice di Oscar e CDG Jenny Beavan è stata onorata con il Career Achievement Award, e Zoe Saldaña è stata con lo Spotlight Award. Durante il suo discorso, l’attrice ha ringraziato la gilda, dicendo: “Sai, certi attori hanno degli oggetti specifici che dettano il suo personaggio, o si avvicinano al loro personaggio avendo un’idea chiara di cosa indossano. Questo non è il mio caso. Non sono un’attrice qualificata e passo la maggior parte del mio tempo a prepararmi per un ruolo respirando in un sacchetto di carta, cercando di non andare completamente nel panico”.
Van Smith, scomparso nel 2006, è stato onorato postumo con l’Edith Head Hall of Fame Award presentato dal regista John Waters, mentre la pluripremiata musicista e attrice Janelle Monáe è stata insignita del Vanguard Spotlight Award.
“Apprezzo il fatto di essere accolta in questa comunità. Amo far parte della comunità non binaria. Amo essere transessuale. Amo far parte della comunità LGBTQIA. Amo i miei genitori della classe operaia e persone come mia nonna, splendidi immigrati, che cucinano il mio cibo e puliscono le nostre case”, ha affermato Monáe. Infine Salvador Perez ha ricevuto il CDGA Distinguished Service Award.
