“Belfast” di Kenneth Branagh è il Miglior Film per i Washington Film Critics Awards Association. Il dramma semi – autobiografico conquista inoltre anche la Miglior Sceneggiatura Originale.

Jane Campion porta a casa la Miglior Regia e la Miglior Sceneggiatura non Originale per “The Power of the Dog”, nonché il riconoscimento per il Miglior Attore non Protagonista assegnato a Kodi Smit – McPhee.

Miglior Attrice Kristen Stewart per la sua interpretazione di Lady Diana nel biopic “Spencer” di Pablo Larrain, mentre Miglior Attore Andrew Garfield per “tick, tick…BOOM!”, in cui ha vestito i panni del compositore di talento, paroliere e drammaturgo Jonathan Larson.  Miglior Attrice non Protagonista Aunjanue Ellis, per il ruolo di Oracene “Brandy” Price, madre delle future grandi del tennis Venus e Serena Williams, in “King Richard” di Reinaldo Marcus Green.

Per quanto riguarda le categorie tecniche, a “Dune” di Denis Villeneuve va il premio per la Miglior Scenografia, Miglior Fotografia e Miglior Colonna Sonora Originale.
