La Southeastern Film Critics Association, una settima prima dell’annuncio delle nomination dei Gloden Globe ha assegnato i propri premi, decretando “Nomadland” di Chloé Zhao Miglior Film, Regia, Attrice, Sceneggiatura, Fotografia, nonché Miglior Attrice a Frances McDormand.

Miglior Attore Chadwick Boseman per “Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom”, premiati anche Sacha BAron Choen come Miglior Attore non Protagonista per “The Trial of the Chicago 7”, e Youn Yuh – jung come Miglior Attrice non Protagonista per “Minari”.
